Med sin externa vattenkylning är den här bärbara speldatorn från Asus förmodligen en av de mest intressanta koncepten från de senaste åren. GX700 var redan en unik produkt och får en värdig efterträdare i GX800.

Huvudfokus är prestanda och funktioner. Inte bara SSD-diskarnas antal och kapacitet har utökats, utan även antalet grafikkort. Enligt konceptet "två är bättre än ett" är datorn nu utrustad med två Nvidiakretsar i prestandaklassen. Med hjälp av överklockning uppnår de nya prestandanivåer som räcker för 4K. SLI-systemet påverkar dock vikten och strömförbrukningen, som är ganska hög.

UHD-panelen med G-Sync-stöd och de många portarna (USB 3.1-C, Thunderbolt 3, HDMI 2.0, etc.) är stora fördelar. GX800 håller jämna steg med liknande rivaler med dubbla GPU:er, som MSI GT80S (eller närmare bestämt dess efterföljare), som har sin egen uppsättning av fördelar och nackdelar, men saknar vattenkylning.
