Schenker VIA 15 Pro recension - AMD kontorslaptop med lång batteritid

Konfigurerbar, många anslutningar. Schenkers VIA 15 Pro är en 15,6-tums kontorslaptop med en AMD-processor och en matt WQHD IPS-panel med 165 Hz. Förutom två SO-DIMM-platser kan även två SSD-enheter installeras och det stora batteriet möjliggör mycket långa batteritider.

Schenker erbjuder en snabb kontorsnotebook med VIA 15 Pro, som använder en matt IPS-panel med en uppdateringsfrekvens på 165 Hz utöver bra inmatningsenheter. En AMD Ryzen-processor är ansvarig för prestandan och både RAM och SSD kan konfigureras efter ens behov. Startpriset för konfigurationen med Ryzen 7 5700U, 8 GB RAM och en 512 GB SSD är 1 149 euro; vår testenhet med 32 GB RAM och en 1 TB SSD kostar 1 298 euro utan operativsystemet.

Väskor och utrustning

Det mörka fodralet är tillverkat av en AZ91D magnesiumlegering (lock och toppen av basenheten, resten aluminium), varför 15-tummaren bara väger 1,446 kg och därmed är märkbart lättare än sina konkurrenter. Basenhetens stabilitet är mycket god, endast locket är lite mer flexibelt (men vi kunde inte provocera fram några bildfel). Gångjärnen tillåter en maximal öppningsvinkel på cirka 145 grader, men kan inte förhindra en viss studsning. Sammantaget är designen mycket återhållsam och VIA Pro kan användas på kontoret utan problem. Du kan till och med ta bort logotypen på locket för en tilläggsavgift på 29 euro. Fingeravtryck är inte ett stort problem på mörka ytor.

Testenheten samlar poäng i uppgraderingsalternativen eftersom det finns två platser vardera för RAM-moduler och M.2-2280 SSD-enheter. WLAN-modulen kan också bytas ut, men antennkonfigurationen stöder inte 6 GHz-nätverk. Ändå stöds WLAN 6 och Bluetooth 5.1 med Intel AX200. Överföringshastigheterna var bra i vårt test. En microSD-läsare är också installerad på vänster sida, men den är inte särskilt snabb med cirka 30 MB / s. 720p-webbkameran är också bara den mest nödvändiga och bildkvaliteten är inte särskilt bra.

Alla viktiga portar är representerade, varvid en av USB-A-portarna fortfarande motsvarar den gamla 2.0-standarden, som inte längre är aktuell. Enheten kan dock också laddas via USB-C utöver en strömförsörjningsport. En Gigabit Ethernet-port är också tillgänglig för trådbundna nätverk.

Inmatningsenheter - Upplyst tangentbord

VIA Pro 15 har ett stort bakgrundsbelyst tangentbord med en mycket bekväm skrivkänsla, vilket gör det enkelt att skriva längre texter. Du måste dock vänja dig vid layouten, eftersom det finns en extra kolumn med specialtangenter till höger (t.ex. dedikerade tangenter för Page Up/Page Down). Du får dock klara dig utan en sifferknappsats. Den stora ClickPad fungerar också felfritt och kan tryckas ner i den nedre halvan, vilket åtföljs av höga klickljud.

16:9-skärmen har WQHD-upplösning (2.560 x 1.440 pixlar) och en snabb uppdateringsfrekvens på 165 Hz. Således är rörelserna mycket smidiga och det subjektiva bildintrycket av den matta panelen är också utmärkt annars eftersom även ljusa ytor inte ser korniga ut. Svarstiderna är behagligt snabba och ingen PWM används, men det finns synliga halos i hög ljusstyrka och mörka bakgrunder.

Schenker specificerar en ljusstyrka på 300 cd/m², vilket överträffas av vår testenhet med ett genomsnitt på 330 cd/m². Svartvärdet är dock förhöjt till 0,41, vilket är anledningen till att kontrastförhållandet bara är strax under 900:1. Det finns ett minimalt blåstick i leveranstillståndet, men det stör oss inte vid daglig kontorsanvändning. Vi kan dock förbättra skärmen med vår egen kalibrering, och du kan till och med redigera bilder tack vare den fullständiga sRGB-täckningen. Betraktningsvinklarna är okej, men vi skulle ha föredragit en ljusare panel utomhus trots den matta ytan.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Prestanda - AMD Ryzen 7 5700U

Schenker förlitar sig på den något dammiga AMD Ryzen 7 5700U med 8 Zen 2-kärnor för VIA 15 Pro, men den erbjuder fortfarande anständig prestanda. Effektgränserna är 40/35 watt i entusiastläget (eller 25/12 watt i Ultra-Silent-läget), vilket ger den en mycket hög och stabil flerkärnig prestanda. I flerkärniga tester slår den till och med nuvarande Intel Raptor Lake U-series-chips som Core i7-1355U i Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga G8. I single-core-testerna lider dock den gamla Ryzen.

Sammantaget är prestandan helt tillräcklig för vardaglig kontorsanvändning, vilket också beror på den snabba PCIe-SSD. Den bärbara datorn är lyhörd hela tiden och vi kunde inte identifiera några problem under testet. Grafikprestandan för Vega 8 iGPU är också helt tillräcklig för daglig användning och rendering av högupplösta videor fungerar också felfritt. Prestandan är till och med något bättre än hos konkurrenterna med Iris Xe Graphics G7. Vid batteridrift är prestandan totalt sett något lägre, särskilt i flerkärniga applikationer (underskott på ~25%).

Utsläpp och energihushållning

Med sina två fläktar är VIA 15 Pro vanligtvis mycket tyst vid daglig användning. Det blir bara högre när CPU-belastningen ökar och du kan också höra fläktarna mycket tydligt med ~42 dB(A) i extrema fall. Om du vill vara på den säkra sidan och inte behöver full CPU-prestanda rekommenderas det ultra tysta läget, eftersom vi bara kunde bestämma ett maximum på ~ 28 dB (A) även i stresstestet, vilket knappast kan höras. Det fanns inga andra elektroniska ljud.

Yttemperaturen förblir behagligt låg vid daglig användning och även i stresstestet kunde vi efter en timme uppmäta högst 41 °C i basenhetens övre mittområde (~43 °C på undersidan). Det finns alltså inga begränsningar ens i detta extrema scenario. De två stereohögtalarna är en svag punkt eftersom det övergripande ljudet är ganska tyst och mycket tunt. Åtminstone diskanter återges rent, vilket gynnar återgivningen av röster.

Med 91-Wh-batteriet uppnår VIA 15 Pro mycket bra körtider även vid 165 Hz. Vi fastställer 11 timmar med en justerad ljusstyrka på 150 cd/m² och fortfarande 8 timmar med full ljusstyrka.

Schenkers Via 15 Pro är en intressant kontorsnotebook som främst sticker ut från den direkta konkurrensen tack vare det högkvalitativa höljet och den bra WQHD-panelen. SRGB-färgrymden är helt täckt och även rörliga bilder är mycket smidiga tack vare den höga uppdateringsfrekvensen samt snabba svarstider. Trots den matta ytan är inte ens det ljusa innehållet kornigt.

Dessutom tar Schenker ett annat tillvägagångssätt när det gäller uppgraderingsalternativ, eftersom två platser vardera för RAM-moduler och M.2-2280 SSD-enheter inte alls är en självklarhet. Tangentbordet lämnar ett gott intryck, liksom batteritiden, och det finns tillräckligt med portar för daglig användning, även om USB 2.0-porten inte längre är uppdaterad.

Via 15 Pro är en intressant kontorsmaskin med ett lätt fodral, bra tangentbord och bra 165 Hz-skärm. Batteritider och uppgraderingsalternativ är lika övertygande, men den gamla Zen 2-processorn från AMD är en besvikelse med tanke på det ganska höga ingångspriset.

Ingångspriset på mer än 1 100 euro är verkligen ett hinder, särskilt med tanke på den gamla AMD-processorn. Det måste dock sägas här att särskilt multi-core-prestandan fortfarande är konkurrenskraftig och också visar sig vara bättre än rivalerna. En annan svag punkt är det dåliga högtalarsystemet.
