Recension av Huawei MateBook D 16 2022 - Bärbar multimediadator nu i 16:10-format och med nummerplatta

Intel Alder Lake med bromsarna i botten. Hittills har MateBook D 16 alltid varit en prisvärd bärbar multimedialaptop med AMD-processorer, men den nya 2022-modellen använder en Alder Lake-processor från Intel. Denna går dock bara att köra med bromsen i botten, och priset har dessutom ökat till 12 990 kronor.

Den nya MateBook D 16 2022 får en stor uppdatering med ett helt nytt metallhölje, en 16:10-skärm och för första gången även ett tangentbord med en fullständig numerisk knappsats. Som redan iMateBook 16sbyter Huawei från en AMD- till en Intel-processor av den nya Alder Lake-generationen. När det gäller priset börjar den nya MateBook D 16 från 949 euro (~958 dollar) med en Core i5-12450H, 16 GB RAM och en stor 512 GB SSD. Vår testenhet med en Core i7-12700Hoch identisk övrig utrustning kostar redan 1299 euro (~1311 dollar), så Huawei tar ut en rejäl premie på 350 euro (~353 dollar) för uppgraderingen från Core i5 till Core i7.

Hölje och utrustning

Huawei har helt omarbetat fallet av den nya MateBook D 16, och följer nu mestadels designen av den nya MateBook D 16 MateBook 16s. När det gäller det yttre kan de två bärbara datorerna knappast särskiljas, förutom att de har lite olika storlekar på grund av deras olika skärmformat (3:2 för MateBook 16s och 16:10 för MateBook D 16). Detta är definitivt en uppgradering för MateBook D 16, och vi hittar inte många skäl till klagomål, varken när det gäller utförande eller när det gäller stabiliteten i höljet.

En titt inuti fodralet visar också att Huawei använder ett identiskt huvudkort för båda enheterna. Men trots att MateBook D 16 använder samma processor får MateBook D 16 bara en enda fläkt och ett enda värmerör. Användaren kan endast byta ut M.2 SSD:n, eftersom WLAN-modulen är fastlödd. Jämfört med föregångaren är den nya MateBook D 16 istället mindre bred och djupare, men den totala storleken på de båda enheterna är ganska likartad

När det gäller anslutningarna och deras mängder finns det återigen paritet med den större MateBook 16s, men Huawei sparar på licensavgifterna för en Thunderbolt 4-anslutning, och en av de två USB-A-portarna på höger sida stöder endast den gamla 2.0-standarden. Wi-Fi-modulen saknar också stöd för de nyaste 6 GHz-nätverken, men AX201-kortet från Intel (Wi-Fi 6) gör fortfarande ett mycket bra jobb och du bör inte stöta på några begränsningar i praktiken

Den nya 1080p-kameran tar hyfsade bilder och erbjuder flera intressanta AI-funktioner (bakgrundsfilter, objektspårning, justering av synvinkel osv.). I praktiken fungerar detta i princip bra, men bildintrycket är något mer ryckigt när AI-kameran är aktiverad.

Inmatningsenheter - MateBook nu med nummerplatta

Den nya MateBook D 16 är den första bärbara datorn från Huawei med en dedikerad numerisk knappsats. Som redan i MateBook 16shar tangentstrecket ökat från 1,3 till 1,5 mm, och skrivupplevelsen är överlag mycket bra. Vi gillar den till och med lite bättre än den i 16s, eftersom tangentstrecket är något tystare. Återkopplingen är exakt och även längre texter kan skrivas utan problem. Som tidigare är de vertikala piltangenterna fortfarande mindre. Det finns en vit, tvåstegs tangentbordsbelysning, men den kan inte aktiveras automatiskt via sensorn. Strömbrytaren är nu placerad högst upp till höger och innehåller en fingeravtryckssensor.

ClickPad är förskjuten något åt vänster, vilket kan ta lite tid att vänja sig vid under vissa omständigheter. Padden fungerar mycket bra och vi stötte inte på några problem i praktiken, men klickljuden fortsätter att vara mycket högljudda.

Skärm - Huawei använder nu en 16:10-panel

Huawei fortsätter i princip att använda en matt IPS-panel, men nu har den ett 16:10-format med 1920 x 1200 pixlar. Bildkvaliteten är mycket bra och även ljusa områden ser inte korniga ut. Du får dock leva utan några specialfunktioner, eftersom det bara finns en uppdateringsfrekvens på 60 Hz, ingen HDR och inte heller någon ljushetssensor.

Den maximala ljusstyrkan är något högre än 300 cd/m², vilket i kombination med det goda svartvärdet resulterar i ett mycket bra kontrastförhållande på nästan 1400:1. Vi har inte mätt någon PWM och svarstiderna är hyfsade. Det finns några synliga ljushalos särskilt i den övre kanten, men IPS-panelens betraktningsvinkelstabilitet visar inga svagheter.

Vår analys med den professionella CalMAN-programvaran (X-Rite i1 Pro 2) visar en tydlig blå nyans i kombination med en för kall färgtemperatur i leveranstillståndet. Vår kalibrering (profil som finns för gratis nedladdning ovan) kan dock åtgärda detta problem och sänker även färgavvikelserna. De kalibrerade värdena är till och med utmärkta, och bild-/videobearbetning är definitivt möjlig i sRGB-färgrymden.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

In comparison: 52 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 19959 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 3846000) Hz was measured.

Prestanda - Huawei använder Alder Lake

Förutom vår testenhet med Core i7-12700Herbjuder Huawei även en instegsmodell med Core i5-12450H. Denna Core i5 medför dock några nackdelar som mindre effektivitetskärnor och även en betydligt långsammare iGPU. Vi har inte kunnat testa denna CPU förrän nu, men det kommer förmodligen inte att finnas någon prestandafördel jämfört med den Ryzen 5 5600Hi den gamla MateBook D 16. MateBook D 16 erbjuder endast LPDDR4X-3733 RAM-minne och inga LPDDR5-moduler ännu.

 
 

Testvillkor

Den förinstallerade PC Manager erbjuder två prestandalägen. Processorn tillåts förbruka upp till 64 watt under en kort tid, varefter den snabbt stabiliseras på 35 watt (balanserat läge) eller 40 watt (prestandaläge, endast vid nätdrift). Detta innebär att processorn även i prestandaläget fortfarande ligger under sin nominella TDP på 45 watt. Eftersom fläkten då blir betydligt högre kan vi inte rekommendera Performance-läget och använde Balanced-läget för alla följande mätningar och benchmarks.

Processor - Core i7-12700H

Vi har redan testat Core i7-12700H flera gånger och hänvisar dig till vår CPU-sida för ytterligare tekniska detaljer. Jämfört med MateBook 16ssom har två fläktar använder MateBook D 16 endast en enda fläkt, vilket resulterar i lägre prestanda. Med 64 watt under en kort tid och konstant 35 watt förblir prestandan hos vår testenhet klart under kapaciteten hos Core i7-12700H.

Resultaten är dock ofta fortfarande bra i benchmarks, eftersom processorn kan dra nytta av de höga effektgränserna här - men maximalt 64 watt uppnås också bara kortvarigt i början av testerna. Vid konstant belastning tvingas i7-12700H snabbt att strypa sin prestanda. Vid enkärnig drift betalas den höga prestandan hos Performance-kärnorna också dyrt med en hög strömförbrukning. Vid batteridrift begränsas processorns strömförbrukning till 40 watt (senare 35 watt), men intressant nog har detta knappast någon effekt på prestandan. Eftersom CPU-temperaturen inte ökar så mycket vid 40 watt kan CPU:n behålla detta värde längre och sjunker först senare till 35 watt. Det finns till exempel bara en skillnad på 2 % i CBR23 Multi-testet, vilket är försumbart. Du kan hitta ytterligare CPU-jämförelser här.
