Recension av HP ProBook 445 G8 - Tyst kontorsdator med AMD Turbo

Robust mobilt sällskap. Prisvärda HP ProBook 445 G8 är en 14-tumslaptop för kontoret med många starka sidor. Mycket god mobilitet möter stark AMD Ryzen-prestanda. Läs vidare för att ta reda på om konkurrenterna kan hänga med.

Liksom EliteBook 800-serien ingår HP:s ProBooks i sortimentet för företag i mellanklass, men de erbjuder endast en del av motsvarande funktioner. Vår modell är utrustad med enAMD Ryzen 5 5600U (Zen 3), generösa 16 GB RAM-minne och en 512 GB stor SSD. Windows ingår inte i priset på 700 euro (~703 dollar). Den 14-tums Full HD IPS-skärmen i full HD har en kapacitet på 250 nits, men en 400 nits-panel med låg energiförbrukning finns tillgänglig som ett alternativ. Kraftfullare octa-core CPU:er från AMD kan också väljas.

Förutom prestanda bör utsläpp och batteritider vara intressanta i jämförelse med den Intel-baserade syskonmodellen, liksom med AMD:s föregångare. Konkurrensen är också stark med ThinkPad E14 G3, denDell Latitude 14 5520, och Acer Swift 3.

Till skillnad från VA-panelen i HP ProBook 440 G8 använder vår modell en IPS-panel med samma upplösning på 1 920x1 080 pixlar vid en skärmdiagonal på 14 tum. Den matta skärmens ljusfördelning på 83 % är också mycket likartad och ligger i mittfältet. Svartnivån på 0,25 nits är bra och kontrasten på 1 216:1 är betydligt högre än hos föregångaren och syskonmodellen.

270 nits är något ljusare än tillverkarens specifikation på 250 nits. De två bärbara datorerna från Lenovo samt HP Pavilion 14 är de enda som klarar över 300 nits i vårt testfält. På samma sätt är ProBookens svarstider mediokra till långsamma som i alla de listade jämförelseenheterna. Vi märkte inget PWM-flimmer.

Det finns tre alternativa paneler: 400 nit låg effekt (100 % sRGB), 1 000 nit SureView (100 % sRGB) och en 250 nit-panel med 1 366x768 pixlar.

Färgnoggrannheten med mycket höga DeltaE-värden lämnar också en hel del att önska - det är bara gråskalanivåerna som kan fås till bra värden efter vår kalibrering. Trots detta hör den röda färgtonen som kom ut ur förpackningen nu till det förflutna. Som alltid finns vår kalibrerade ICC-färgprofil att ladda ner bredvid belysningsgrafiken.

Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

In comparison: 52 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 19959 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 3846000) Hz was measured.

På grund av den något för svaga panelen (270 nits) är rörligheten utomhus lite begränsad, eftersom det krävs en skuggig plats för att kunna läsa skärmens innehåll. Enbart en matt skärmyta räcker inte till.

Dessutom måste användarna avaktivera "Vari Bright" i AMD:s Radeon-inställningar för att inte förlora ljusstyrka på batteriet.

IPS-panelen återger fortfarande skärminnehållet korrekt även vid platta betraktningsvinklar, till skillnad från VA-panelen i syskonmodellen. Båda teknikerna är dock mer än lämpliga i praktiken

Imponerande prestanda trots strypning av AMD Ryzen

Prestandan hos AMD:s sexkärniga processor är mer än tillräcklig för kontorsprogram. ProBook 445 G8 klarar alla uppgifter utmärkt, även virtuella maskiner, om du utökar 16 GB RAM och uppgraderar 512 GB SSD vid behov. Komplexa 3D-program är dock för krävande för den integrerade Vega 7 GPU

HP tillhandahåller inga egna prestandaprofiler för sin ProBook 445 G8. Därför utfördes våra benchmarks och tester med Windows strömläge "Bästa prestanda". Batteritiderna vid webbsurfning fastställdes däremot med hjälp av läget "Balanserad".

AMD Ryzen 5600U får 30 watt i några sekunder, följt av 25 watt i en minut och slutligen 15 watt, vilket innebär att prestandan snabbt sjunker med 20 %. Kärnornas klockfrekvenser bekräftar beteendet med en inledande 3,3 GHz och senare med en konstant 2,6 GHz.

ThinkPad E14 G3 liksom AsusExpertBook B1 erbjuder en bättre långsiktig prestanda trots den äldre Zen 2-arkitekturen. HP ProBook 445 är dock fortfarande bäst i bedömningen av CPU-prestanda. Särskilt i benchmarks för webbläsning "Octane V2" och "Jetstream 2" överträffas Zen 2 CPU:erna med hela 30 %.

Eftersom CPU:n ligger på mysiga 60 °C efter att ha nått PL1-gränsen, och fläkten knappt är hörbar, hade vi gärna sett en långsiktig strömförbrukning på 25 watt. Användare som vill ha mer prestanda kan dock fortfarande välja en AMD octa-core CPU som t.ex Ryzen 7 5800U. Å andra sidan ärRyzen 3 5400U (fyrkärnig) är mer prisvärd. Det finns ingen prestandaförlust på batteriet.
