The RedMagic 11 Pro is another low-priced gaming phone from the Nubia-affiliated brand, and one of the fastest phones on the market at launch. It’s the first I've tested running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, which is as fast as mobile chipsets get. Even with RedMagic’s new liquid cooling system, in conjunction with its best cooling fan yet, I remain a little dubious about sustained performance over extended periods, but there’s no doubting the RedMagic 11 Pro runs demanding games beautifully. That’s aided by the usual RedMagic flourishes like mappable gaming controls and a dedicated gaming interface, accessed through a special hardware switch. It’s the only part of the UI that really impresses, though, as RedMagic OS 11 continues to lack refinement. Camera quality hasn’t improved to any appreciable degree.

If you are in the market for a gaming Android phone with the latest possible hardware and the looks to match, the RedMagic 11 Pro is a great choice. It has a nice display with very slim bezels; it's got the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset with an advanced cooling system; a handful of neat gaming features, including the physical shoulder triggers; and also a massive battery with quick charging. Sadly, the awkward translations, the unpolished state of the software at times, and the absence of properly good cameras keep us from giving the phone an excellent score. Even for a gaming phone, the camera experience is subpar. On the other hand, RedMagic is asking less than €700 at launch for the entry-level version, and that's a price no one can match right now, especially with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 on board.

This phone is worth every nickel. By every metric, the RedMagic 11 Pro is a triumph of phone engineering. It’s futuristic, fast and feels like holding a piece of electronic art. Sure, the camera system is mid-tier and the software is still unfinished, but those flaws don’t matter once you feel that liquid-cooled chassis humming along at 144 frames per second. This is the first gaming phone I didn’t want to put down. I even shelved my iPhone for a month because the RedMagic 11 Pro simply became my daily driver. It’s the phone I reached for every time.

I've been testing the Nubia REDMAGIC 11 Pro for a few days so here's my unboxing and review of the gaming chops with Wuthering Waves etc. As well as the best-in-class battery life, the main draw of this beefy smartphone is that performance. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 replaces the original 'Leading Edition', so once again Wuthering Waves, Genshin Impact and other favourites all run flawlessly. The REDMAGIC 11 Pro's upgraded heat-dissipation tech now includes liquid cooling and works beautifully, even with your game's settings maxed out.
