KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG GPU för stationära datorer: Stor prestanda möter tvivelaktig prissättning

FPS och RGB-belysning i överflöd! Vid sidan av GeForce RTX 4090 har Nvidia släppt GeForce RTX 4080, en något billigare modell baserad på företagets senaste Ada Lovelace-arkitektur. Trots detta kräver tillverkarna mer än 1 000 euro (1 070 dollar) för det näst snabbaste grafikkortet från team green. Vi har nu tagit en närmare titt på en RTX 4080-modell tillverkad av KFA2. I den här recensionen får du reda på var det här kortet står när det gäller prestanda.

Efter att vi nyligen recenserat KFA2 GeForce RTX 4090 SGär det nu dags för den mindre KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG att visa upp vad den har under huven. På tal om under huven, till skillnad från Ampere-utbudet är den näst snabbaste modellen i den nuvarande generationen baserad på ett annat grafikkretsen än det som finns i toppmodellen. Den använder AD103 GPU, som är betydligt mindre och därmed billigare att tillverka än AD102. Den lägre produktionskostnaden återspeglas dock inte fullt ut i den nuvarande prissättningen. Detta är en fråga som diskuteras flitigt, och även vi anser att priserna måste sänkas avsevärt så att de senaste grafikkorten inte slutar som hyllvärmare. Priset för GeForce RTX 4080 har mer än fördubblats jämfört med föregångaren (GeForce RTX 3080). Vi lämnar vår kritik av prissättningen här för tillfället. Från och med nu vill vi istället fokusera på prestanda och funktioner hos KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG och diskutera hur väl denna modell står sig framför allt mot AMD:s RDNA3 GPU:er.

Även om KFA2 ofta är en av tillverkarna med de lägsta priserna anser företaget sig vara en konkurrent till andra tillverkare som erbjuder dyrare kort, till exempel Asus med sin Strix-serie och MSI med sina Suprim-X-modeller. Tyvärr kunde vi inte jämföra de olika korten head-to-head eftersom vi ännu inte har fått tag på några Asus- eller MSI-modeller. Vi kan dock säga att KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG har samma nivå av utförande som KFA2 GeForce RTX 4090 SG. Trots att KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG har en mycket lägre nominell strömförbrukning än toppmodellen är den utrustad med en enorm kylare med fyra slitsar. Det finns också en massa RGB-belysning som drar uppmärksamhet till kortet. Liksom alla nuvarande modeller i RTX 40-serien drivs RTX 4080 via den nya 12VHPWR-kontakten. KFA2 har inte gjort något annorlunda här och har inkluderat en lämplig 3x6+2 pin PCIe till 12VHPWR adapter.

På utsidan har KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG 1x HDMI 2.1a port och 3x DisplayPort 1.4a.

Vårt testsystem har ett Gigabyte X670E Aorus Master-moderkort tillsammans med en högpresterande AMD-processor (Ryzen 9 7950X), som kyls av en Alphacool AIO-lösning (Alphacool Eisbaer Aurora 360 mm). Systemet har 32 GB G.Skill-minne som körs på en lämplig EXPO-profil och är anslutet till en Gigabyte M32U-skärm.

Detaljer om KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG

KFA2 har gett GeForce RTX 4080 SG något högre klockfrekvenser än vad Nvidia har angett - den maximala boostklockan har ökat med 60 MHz för att vara exakt. Men detta är irrelevant i praktiken eftersom vi konsekvent lyckades uppnå högre hastigheter under våra tester. I genomsnitt såg vi GPU-klockfrekvenser på ungefär 2,8 GHz under spelandet. Med det lätta Xtreme Tuner-verktyget kan användaren styra fläktarna och belysningen på grafikkortet. För våra tester gjorde vi dock inga ändringar av standardinställningarna. 1-Click OC-funktionen som ofta finns på KFA2-modeller är mer bara för syns skull. I verkliga tillämpningar gör det knappast någon skillnad att höja GPU-hastigheterna med bara 15 MHz. Vi hoppas att den här funktionen kommer att ge betydligt mer i framtiden. Förutom själva grafikkortet hittar du i lådan även en valfri fläkt som är utformad för att monteras på baksidan av kortet. Synd att fläkten är inkompatibel med vårt moderkort, vilket gör att vi inte kan använda den i vår recension. Företaget har även inkluderat ett GPU-fäste (ARGB Dark Obelisk). Denna artikel är utrustad med integrerad RGB-belysning och passar därför bra ihop med den övergripande designen på KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG.

Syntetiska riktmärken

I syntetiska tester levererade KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG exakt samma prestandanivå som Founders Edition från Nvidia. KFA2-kortet kunde överträffa ett AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT med elva procent. AMD:s flaggskepp GPU, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, ligger inom samma prestandavärde och är bara försumbart snabbare än vår granskningsenhet. Efter att ha sett ett enormt prestandasprång från GeForce RTX 3090 till RTX 4090 observerade vi en liknande prestandaökning när vi jämförde RTX 4080 med RTX 3080 Ti. Sammantaget ger Nvidias Ada Lovelace-arkitektur hela 26 procent högre prestanda än Ampere.

När det gäller beräkningsprestanda har Nvidia klart övertaget ibland, medan AMD är klart bättre i andra fall. Så de som i första hand är ute efter hög beräkningsprestanda bör noga överväga vilka programvaror de tänker använda och vilket grafikkort som har ett övertag i just dessa tillämpningar. Som sådan kan vi inte definitivt rekommendera en viss produkt i detta avseende.

Benchmarks för spel

Liksom den KFA2 GeForce RTX 4090 SGerbjuder KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG enormt hög spelprestanda som bara visar sina muskler ordentligt vid 2160p. Självklart klarar modellen 1440p mycket bekvämt och processorn är mindre begränsande än för det snabbare RTX 4090. AMD-konkurrenterna gör inte mycket motstånd mot KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG, trots att ett fåtal spel körs bättre på AMD-grafikkort. Å andra sidan finns det också spel som presterar mycket bättre på Nvidias grafikkort. När ray tracing-funktionerna är aktiverade drar Nvidiakorten ännu längre fram mot de nya RDNA3-grafikkorten. Utan DLSS kämpar dock även de snabbaste Nvidia GPU:erna just nu med ray tracing i högre upplösningar. Som Cyberpunk 2077 visar får du nöja dig med 1080p när DLSS är inaktiverat

I vilket fall som helst bör det noteras att DLSS 3.0 endast finns tillgängligt på de nya GPU:erna i GeForce RTX 40-serien. AMD har en liknande funktion i beredskap i form av den öppna standarden FSR, som också kan användas med Nvidias GPU:er. KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG har en strömförbrukning på 320 watt - vilket är på samma nivå som ett Founders Edition-kort från Nvidia. Även om dess strömförbrukning har förblivit oförändrad jämfört med ett GeForce RTX 3080överträffade RTX 4080 sin föregångare avsevärt i våra tester. Energieffektiviteten har förbättrats med en imponerande marginal med Ada Lovelace och 4 nm-noden. Effektmålet för KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG kan ökas med upp till 31 procent, vilket gör att enbart grafikkortet kan förbruka så mycket som 420 watt effekt. Med hjälp av 12VHPWR-kontakten (som ingår i förpackningen som en adapter med 3x6+2 pin PCIe-kontakter) är grafikprocessorns strömförbrukning fortfarande inom tillåtna gränser. För att undvika problem med strömförsörjningen rekommenderar vi att du använder tre separata kablar för att ansluta kortet till nätaggregatet

Under stresstestet nådde KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG 320 watt utan ansträngning, och vi noterade en GPU-temperatur på cirka 74 °C (165 °F). GPU-hotspot-temperaturen var dock så hög som 93°C (199°F) under belastning. VRAM förblev häpnadsväckande svalt vid 58 °C (136 °F). KFA2-kortet förlitar sig på en massiv kylfläns med tre 102 mm axialfläktar för att avleda värmen. Som tillval kan ytterligare en 102 mm fläkt installeras på baksidan av kortet. Tyvärr kunde vi inte testa det på grund av inkompatibilitet med vårt moderkort. Fläktarna genererade ett tyst surrande ljud som fortfarande kunde höras med datorhöljet stängt (42 dB(A) buller baserat på vår mätning). När vi höjde effektgränsen steg ljudnivåerna från GPU:n till 43 dB(A). Under spel (The Witcher 3, 1080p, Ultra-förinställning) producerade vår installation ett behagligt ljud på 36 dB(A). Vi märkte inte heller av något irriterande spolningsvisslande

När det gäller strömförbrukning lämnar KFA2 GeForce RTX 4080 SG ett gott intryck och ligger hals och hals med AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT - ett kort som ger betydligt mindre prestanda. KFA GeForce RTX 3080 SG, som vi tidigare recenserat, krävde mer ström vid belastning. Tillverkaren rekommenderar att man använder ett nätaggregat på 750 watt. Denna rekommendation är baserad på ett system med en AMD Ryzen 9 5900X.
