If you want a good all-round smartphone that offers future-proof features such as 4G LTE connectivity and NFC, along with excellent battery life, decent camera and a big screen, all for an impressively low price, then the Huawei Ascent G7 is definitely worth buying. It's clear that Huawei is serious about improving its image in the West, and with this competitively priced handset and attractive design, it certainly has a chance of doing this.

The cameras take decent photos and reasonable video, too. Build quality is also good. The main problem is performance. Not only does the interface stutter and lag, but our benchmarks show that it just isn't that fast. However, it's hard to find a better deal - the OnePlus One is the closest competition but it's at least £30 more.

The Ascend G7 4G is set to retail for about £150 and will be available from Carphone Warehouse, Amazon and other online retailers, believed to be released sometime in the beginning of March This device should not be overlooked, especially if you’re after a larger screen phone. It feels more premium than its price tag, with fantastic battery life, and takes some decent photos. If my Note 3 stopped working tomorrow I think the Huawei Ascend G7 4G is where my money would be going.

Huawei has announced the Ascend G7, a new smartphone with a metal body, looking to bring some of that HTC One love to those on a budget. The handset has a metal body that's punctuated by two plastic segments in the rear, top and bottom. It reminds us of some of the unibody design we saw from HTC in that past - the HTC Legend for example - and we imagine this is to aid network connectivity.

De här grafikkorten är inte lämpliga för spel. Om spelet fungerar alls är det ofta med mycket låg bildfrekvens och andra problem med renderingen. Vanligt kontorsbruk och surfande bör däremot fungera bra.
