I was hyped with original Zenbook UX430 back when it was released, but a lot has changed in the meantime, and as of mid 2018 the Zenbook UX430UN is only a good buy if you can find it for a really great price. It's still a nice product, don't get me wrong, but it just looks better on paper than it behaves in real life, and it comes with a handful of compromises you'll have to accept. On top of that, there are many more viable competitors to consider these days than back in 2017. The article below explains this conclusion.

The UX430 is not just another Zenbook, it's a Zenbook on steroids, with a larger and excellent display, a great keyboard, fast hardware, long battery life and quite capable speakers. Despite those, it's not very expensive, so it should cater well to the average consumer looking for a compact and light all-rounder around the 1G mark, that can also tackle some games. Asus seems to have paid attention to what the market really wants, and that is a simple, no-nonsense laptop that's easy to carry around. Even with the base model, you get a modern processor and comfortably large SSD, and we're happy to see that creature comforts such as the excellent screen and backlit keyboard are common across the board. We aren't thrilled about the lack of useful ports, which is the only truly major limitation here.

Grafikkort för bärbara datorer baserat på Pascal GP108, en mobil version av desktop-kortet GeForce GT 1030. Har 384 shader-kärnor och vanligen 2 GB DDR5 med en minnesbuss på 64 bitar. Tillverkad i 14 nm.
Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.

Kaby-Lake-Refresh-baserad fyrkärnig lågenergiprocessor. Dom fyra kärnorna är klockade mellan 1.8 och 4 Ghz (Turbo Boost) och stödjer HyperThreading. Den integrerade GPU:n är klockad mellan 300 och 1,150 Mhz. Denna SoC är tillverkad med en 14nm+ FinFET process.
