Asus has taken risks with the ROG Flow X16, and in several departments those have paid off. The ROG Flow X16's sturdy, good-looking exterior works well as a laptop and as a tented screen. Switch to tablet mode and it's usable for creative work and even as a reading and web-browsing device if you can stomach its size. The X16's RTX 3070 Ti graphics core is a solid performer 2560 x 1600, and the Mini LED display delivers incredible SDR and HDR performance that makes games and movies pop from the panel. This Asus ROG laptop suffers a little when it comes to value. Its $2,499 price isn't terrible, but if you're happy to eschew the convertible design and Mini LED display you'll find this speed for around $2,000 elsewhere. You'll even find RTX 3080 Ti laptops at less than $2,750. The Asus also comes with an RTX 3060, but it's still pretty pricey considering its internals. The future also undermines the X16. If you're willing to wait a few months, the Flow's 2023 version will arrive with RTX 4070 graphics cores and faster Intel processors. Again, currently, I’d nominate the ASUS ROG Flow X16 as my laptop of the year so far. ASUS ROG Flow X16 (GV601, 2023) review – the most powerful convertible on the market

As it turns out, convertibles can make for very good gaming laptops. Who would have thought? Well, obviously ASUS, because they made this gorgeous, aggressive, yet elegant piece of hardware. Its processor and graphics card work as intended, providing a ton of performance. Currently, there is no title on the planet that won’t work at max settings and native resolution on this laptop’s maxed-out configuration. What comes as a negative bonus here is the price – but sometimes beautiful things cost a fortune. This is more often seen in single-channel RAM modifications. Thankfully, there are two SODIMM slots, which work with DDR5 RAM and support 64GB in dual-channel mode. You even get two M.2 PCIe x4 slots for Gen 4 SSDs. So currently, there are no obvious competitors to this notebook. Unfortunately, this means that ASUS can do whatever it wants with the pricing of this product. However, if you can afford to get one, the ROG Flow X16 (GV601, 2023) will not disappoint you.

The ROG Flow X16 remains one of the best portable all-purpose laptops that you can buy today, and pretty much without a direct-tier alternative even in 2023. The 2-in-1 format with a touch display, the awesome mini LED panel, and the balanced performance/cooling design are its primary differentiators over the other options out there. But the solid build quality and excellent ergonomics, the uncompromised IO, the punchy speakers, the overall performance capabilities, and even the fair battery life are also strong selling points for this series. At the same time, though, this Flow demands a premium over the clamshell Asus ROG Zephyrus lineups, and is only available with mid-tier GPU specs. That means the top-specced 2023 generation is pretty much on par in gaming and GPU capabilities with the top-tier 2022 model, and that might not suffice for some of you. Hence, a 4080 configuration would have addressed this part. But thing is, if performance is what you’re primarily after, you’re most likely better off with something else anyway.

De här grafikkorten levererar bäst 3D-prestanda för bärbara datorer. De kan hantera alla nya spel i hög upplösning och ofta med avancerade inställningar. Däremot är strömförbrukningen hög, så batteritiden blir lidande (med undantag för bärbara datorer med växlingsbar grafik). Som regel hittar man bara de här GPU:erna i större laptops.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU:
Högklassigt grafikkort för bärbara datorer baserat på Ampere GA104-chipet. Finns i olika versioner med en TDP från 80 till 125 watt och olika maximala Boost-klockhastigheter på 1035-1485 MHz.
NVIDIA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU:
High-end grafikkort för bärbara datorer baserat på Ada Lovelace-arkitekturen. Erbjuder 8 GB GDDR6 (128 bitar) och är konfigurerbar med en TGP på 35 - 115W (+ Dynamic Boost).

De här grafikkorten bör klara av alla nuvarande spel med acceptabel bildfrekvens, men inte nödvändigtvis med höga inställningar. Särskilt krävande spel kanske bara fungerar med låga inställningar. R9 6900HS:
Mobil Octa-Core APU med Zen 3+-kärnor med en klockfrekvens på 3,3-4,9 GHz och ett RDNA2-grafikadapter med 12 CU:er med en klockfrekvens på upp till 2 400 MHz. HS-varianten erbjuder en 10 W lägre TDP och därmed en lägre uthållig prestanda än HX-versionen.
R7 6800HS: Mobil Octa-Core APU med Zen 3+-kärnor klockade till 3,2 till 4,7 GHz och ett RDNA2 grafikkort med 12 CU-kärnor klockade till upp till 2.200 MHz. HS-varianten har en 10 W lägre TDP och därmed en lägre uthållig prestanda än H-versionen.
Intel Raptor Lake-H:
i9-13900H: Alder Lake-baserad mobil CPU med 6 prestandakärnor och 8 effektiva kärnor. Prestandakärnorna erbjuder hyper threading, vilket leder till 20 trådar som kan bearbetas. CPU:n klockar med upp till 5,4 GHz. Jämfört med i9-13900HK stöds ingen enkel överklockning, men istället full vPro-hanteringsfunktionsuppsättning.
