A strong update to Apple’s 13-inch flagship notebook, not least if you look beyond the surface. Still, these changes are all good stuff. Sure, it’d be great to see Face ID on the MacBook Pro, but that won’t happen until a major overhaul. In the meantime, we get plenty of extra power, an improved display, a quieter keyboard, and a battery that gets the machine through an entire day of normal use – assuming ‘normal’ to you isn’t running games and hugely demanding software non-stop.

We are pleased that Apple has finally started to offer what can be considered a professional machine in the 13in form. There is no longer such a world of difference between the 13in and 15in MacBook Pro, apart from graphics power with the integrated Intel GPU in the 13in model holding it back.

The price may not have changed since last year, but the 2018 version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro does deliver stronger performance and good battery life, which help to justify its premium price tag. Its slim, lightweight design will also appeal to business users who need a travelling laptop that can provide desktop levels of performance. However, the lack of a discrete GPU remains a weakness in a 'pro' laptop, and suggests that Apple still has some lost ground to make up with its loyal professional users.

Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.
