Will the company successfully mobilise the wealth of expertise it has acquired from previous models, such as the Z series, to outperform the competition while adhering to Intel's standards of computing power, thinness and battery life? In terms of both design and price, the Sony Vaio T13 is closer to the Aspire S3 than the Zenbook Prime UX31A or MacBook Air. In general, the Sony VAIO T13 straddles the blurry lines between all-purpose, thin-and-light, and Ultrabook portables with reasonable skill. It compromises a bit on performance due to the hybrid drive, and some of the ergonomics could be better, but it delivers the lightweight design, the fairly roomy storage space, and (except for its lack of 5GHz Wi-Fi) the various connectivity options that are popular with consumers--all at an uncharacteristically (for Sony) affordable price. People who like the idea of an Ultrabook but don't want to sacrifice a lot of traditional features should give it a look

If you are looking for an ultrabook with solid performance and lots of storage space, Sony's VAIO T offers both of these for just under $1000. Buyers will have to contend with a number of tradeoffs to get this extra performance though. This is thicker and heavier than many ultrabooks at this price point. It has decent performance, though the hybrid drive design will make you wait a tick here and there. It's nicely styled, if a little commonplace these days and a smidge heavy. It's nice, but systems like the Editors' Choice Toshiba Portege Z935-P300 are much better in terms of features and performance, for only a few more dollars.

Sony:
Bara vissa äldre spel kan spelas flytande med de här grafikkorten. Kretsar med delat minne har fördelen att de utvecklar mindre värme och ger längre batteritid. De duger gott för kontorsbruk, surfande och enklare bildbehandling, men spel och HD-video är inte i syftet med de här kretsarna.
Intel HD Graphics 3000: Den integrerade grafikkretsen i Intels Sandy Bridge-processorer (Core ix-2xxx). Snabbare än föregångaren och överklockningsbar med Turbo Boost.
En del nyare spel kan spelas med de här grafikkorten, men bara om de är mindre krävande. De har ändå tillräcklig kapacitet för kontorsbruk och film (möjligen högupplöst). Är grafikkretsen dessutom integrerad kan batteritiden vara utmärkt.
Intel HD Graphics 4000: Den integrerade grafikkretsen i Intels Ivy Bridge-processorer. Prestandan varierar mellan olika processormodeller (ex. ULV eller fyrkärniga).
Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M: Efterföljaren till GTX 460M är också baserad på GF116 men har något högre klockfrekvens och en optimerad kretsdesign. På så vis har klockfrekvenserna kunnat ökas medan strömförbrukningen stannat på samma nivå.
