So, the Mix Fold 2 is a great foldable device and a good smartphone. We are sure it will find fans across China as it is a country where sometimes software means more than hardware, and MIUI has the upper hand. It is not the best foldable, that's for sure, but it is the thinnest one. And our verdict is quite simple - if you like it, you buy it as it's a worthy device. If its imperfections bother you - look elsewhere. But if you don't live in China, or nearby, we can't in good conscience recommend gray importing it - not like we did the Ultra models. Foldables break a lot more often than regular phones. And if this Mix Fold 2 does crack, you will end up with one fancy paperweight with nowhere to service it.

With an overall score of 130, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 delivered a good performance in the DXOMARK Audio tests and showed very noticeable improvements over its predecessor, the Mix Fold 2. The Mix Fold 3 especially shone as a recording device, thanks to a very pleasant timbre and very effective wind noise reduction. Only when recording loud events, such as concerts, did the Xiaomi show some weaknesses. Overall recording results were best with the main camera, but the front camera and memo app were almost on the same level. Playback was not quite on the same high level as the recording results but still decent. Playback quality was very good at high volumes, with very good bass and treble rendition as well as dynamics, but unfortunately the quality dropped at nominal and soft volume levels.

Tre ytterligare prestandakärnor är baserade på A710 men klockar upp till 2,5 GHz. Dessutom integreras fyra energisparande kärnor som är baserade på ARM Cortex-A510-arkitekturen och klockar upp till 1,8 GHz. Förutom processorkärnorna integrerar SoC:n ett WiFi 6e-modem, en Hexagon DSP (för AI-acceleration) och en Spectra ISP. Den integrerade minneskontrollern stöder snabbt LPDDR5-minne med upp till 3 200 MHz. 5G ingår nu i chipet med Snapdragon X65-modemet. Jämfört med non plus-versionen erbjuder 8+ Gen 1 en 200 MHz högre klockad Prime Core och en 10 % högre klockad GPU. Dessutom tillverkas den nu hos TSMC och inte hos Samsung.

SD 8 Gen 2:

Högkvalitativ SoC för smartphones som introducerades i slutet av 2022 med en snabb huvudkärna baserad på en ARM Cortex-X3-arkitektur med en hastighet på upp till 3,2 GHz. Två andra högpresterande kärnor är baserade på A715 och stöder också endast 64-bitarsprogram. De andra två A710-kärnorna stöder också 32-bitarstillämpningar, liksom de energisparande Cortex-A510-kärnorna. Förutom processorkärnorna innehåller SoC ett WiFi 7-modem, en Hexagon DSP (för AI-acceleration) och en Spectra ISP. Den integrerade minneskontrollern stöder snabbt LPDDR5x-minne upp till 4200 MHz. 5G ingår i chipet med Snapdragon X70-modemet.
