Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Den största besvikelsen med UMIDIGI S2 Lite är att den inte lever upp till marknadsföringsbilderna. Infattningen på sidorna är mycket tjockare än den kant-till-kant skärm som UMIDIGI antyder på sin hemsida och i sitt marknadsföringsmaterial.

Det är synd att marknadsföringsbilderna är så missvisande, för S2 Lite är i övrigt en bra smartphone. Metallhöljet är stabilt och tjusigt samtidigt som batteritiden är bra, även om S2 Lite misslyckas med att använda sitt stora batteri på 5.100 mAh fullt ut. Skärmen är spektakulärt ljusstark och överglänser mycket dyrare enheter. S2 Lite kan till och med tävla med telefoner som designats för att användas utomhus såsom CAT S31. Kombinationen av imponerande skärmljusstyrka, ett högt kontrastförhållande och bra färgåtergivning är heller inte en självklarhet för telefoner i det här prisskiktet.

UMIDIGI S2 Lite har en extremt ljusstark skärm som överglänser enhetens nackdelar såsom hög yttemperatur vid belastning, utdaterade säkerhetspatchar och dom missvisande marknadsföringsbilderna. Totalt sett presterar UMIDIGI S2 Lite starkt till ett överkomligt pris.

Kameran ligger under genomsnittet och säkerhetspatcharna för Android behöver uppdateras akut. Den utlovade uppdateringen till Android Oreo 8.1 är också försenad, men vi skulle aldrig rekommendera att förlita sig på vad tillverkaren lovar när det kommer till mjukvaruuppdateringar. Vi rekommenderar dock att köpa den här enheten från en Europeisk försäljare på grund av den täckning garantin ger dig då. Totalt sett är UMIDIGI S2 Lite en riktigt bra smartphone i det lägre mittenskiktet.
