Galaxy J3 (SM-J320F/DS) verkar vara en ”lite”-version av förra årets Galaxy J5 som nyligen ersattes av den tydligt uppfräschade Galaxy J5 (2016). Arvet från den äldre modellen är tydligt, med en bra AMOLED-panel och mycket liknande design. Det går fortfarande att byta ut batteriet. Mobilen har ett robust, välbyggd hölje även om den är helt i plast. Ytterligare förtjänster är exakt pekskärm och lång batteritid, samt platser för två SIM-kort och microSD.

Kamerorna har man däremot kompromissat med. J3 har en medelmåttig 8-megapixelsensor på baksidan som bara tar hyfsade bilder under idealiska förhållanden. Magra 4,35 GB lagringsutrymme är också snålt tilltaget. Lyckligtvis stöder Galaxy J3 USB OTG och program kan flyttas till minneskortet för att undvika lagringsbrist i viss utsträckning. Systemkretsen är jämförelsevis långsam, men renderar gränssnittet utan eftersläpningar.

Sammanfattningsvis är Galaxy J3 (2016) en tilltalande mobil i budgetklassen, med många fördelar trots ett lågt pris. De mest tydliga kompromisserna är det tajta lagringsutrymmet och kamerans medelmåttiga kvalitet.
