Fall, utrustning och drift

Oppo A16s är mestadels tillverkad av plast, men har ändå ett högkvalitativt utseende och en solid konstruktion. Endast framsidan skyddas av Panda MN228-glas. Oppos smartphone finns i Crystal Black och Pearl Blue och är skyddad mot stänkvatten enligt IPX4.

Telefonens funktioner är typiska för klassen. A16s erbjuder fullfjädrad dual-SIM (2x nano) och microSD-stöd. Spåret för minnesutvidgning uppvisar bra överföringshastigheter i kopieringstestet och behärskar även exFAT-filsystemet. USB-porten fungerar enligt 2.0-standarden och erbjuder OTG så att externa lagringsmedier samt kringutrustning kan anslutas till smarttelefonen. Förresten är den enda skillnaden mot Oppo A16 utan s-bilagan att den testade versionen har ett NFC-chip.

Google Android 11 används som operativsystem, över vilket Oppo strippar sitt användargränssnitt ColorOS i version 11.1. Säkerhetsuppdateringarna är fram till den 5 augusti 2021 vid testtillfället, vilket fortfarande är ganska aktuellt. Tyvärr saknas en DRM-certifiering, så motsvarande skyddat innehåll kan inte spelas upp i HD.

I bästa fall finns LTE tillgängligt för mobil internetåtkomst. Frekvensutrustningen är hyfsad, så det borde inte finnas några begränsningar i Europa. Telefonifunktionerna är bra så länge A16s hålls mot örat och buller inte är för högt, eftersom det sistnämnda bara filtreras måttligt. Den ger något efterklang i högtalarläget, men kvaliteten och mikrofonens räckvidd är annars hyfsad. VoLTE stöds.

En dubbelbandsmodul med Wi-Fi 5 finns tillgänglig för Wi-Fi-anslutningar, vilket ger hyfsade överföringshastigheter i kombination med vår referensrouter Netgear Nighthawk AX12. De observerade fluktuationerna i datamottagningen märks inte negativt vid daglig användning.

Pekskärmen är skyddad från fabrik med ett skärmskydd som har goda glidegenskaper och har applicerats rent. En fingeravtryckssensor i strömknappen finns tillgänglig för biometrisk säkerhet. Den har bra igenkänningsfrekvens och fungerar med hyfsad hastighet. Alternativt är ansiktsigenkänning via den främre kameran möjlig, men den är mindre säker

Kameran på framsidan har inte en särskilt hög upplösning, men den ger ändå ganska bra selfies. Särskilt den automatiska HDR-funktionen ger bättre resultat i motljus än många konkurrenter.

Trippelkameran erbjuder standardkost. Huvudobjektivet tar ganska hyggliga bilder, men de kännetecknas av svag dynamik och fina detaljer ser fransiga ut i bakgrunden. De två extra objektiven ansvarar för skärpedjup och närbilder (makro).

Videor spelas in i Full HD med 30 bilder per sekund, i bästa fall, på både främre och bakre kameror.

Den 6,52 tum stora LC-skärmen på Oppos A16s har endast en liten HD-upplösning. Detta resulterar inte i en särskilt hög pixeltäthet, utan man måste titta väldigt noga för att se en pixelstruktur.

Skärmens ljusstyrka är lite högre med aktiverat omgivande ljus och når upp till 607 cd/m² i skärmens mitt. Om ljusstyrkan regleras manuellt nås fortfarande 549 cd/m² och med en jämn fördelning av ljusa och mörka områden (APL50) blir det 576 cd/m².

Skärmens vitbalans är ganska kall i standardinställningarna. Men om färgtemperaturen ställs in på så varm som möjligt i inställningarna blir skärmen ganska naturlig och, särskilt med tanke på prisklassen, riktigt bra. Svartnivån kunde dock ha varit lite bättre, men den är ändå tillräcklig för ett starkt kontrastförhållande.

Prestanda, utsläpp och batteritid

Oppo A16s kan förlita sig på en MediaTek Helio G35 med 4 GB arbetsminne. Den integrerade PowerVR GE8320 är ansvarig. Processorn ger en tilltalande vardagsprestanda, men små stuttrar kan ses då och då. Prestandan är jämförbar med den för Exynos 850 men den gamla GPU:n i G35 är en riktig spelglädjeförstörare. I gengäld förblir Oppos smartphone alltid behagligt sval.

Högtalaren på haksidan ger ett ganska bra ljudutbyte, som är diskanttungt men kan övertyga särskilt i det medelstora volymområdet. Ljuduttaget möjliggör ett hyfsat ljud (signal-brusförhållande: 66,43 dBFS) via kabel. Bluetooth med alla vanliga ljudcodecs (SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX TWS+ och LDAC) finns som ett alternativ.

A16s batteri på 5 000 mAh säkerställer enormt långa skärmkörningstider, så att två dagars användning lätt bör vara möjlig vid sporadisk användning.

Slutsats - Oppo A16 med ett litet plus

Oppo A16s är en lyckad smartphone på instegsnivå som främst övertygar med en ljusstark och PWM-fri skärm, fullfjädrad dual-SIM och mycket långa batteritider. Det är också en av de få telefoner i sin klass som också är utrustad med ett NFC-chip, vilket inte bara möjliggör snabb parning av Bluetooth-enheter utan även mobila betalningar.

Oppo A16s har mycket att erbjuda trots sitt låga pris.

Det är bara synd att Oppo avstår från en DRM-certifiering. De som också gillar att spela spel på smarttelefonen får vänja sig vid minskade detaljer och långa laddningstider i A16s. Kameran är verkligen ingen höjdpunkt, men den räcker ändå för tillfälliga ögonblicksbilder.

Ett starkt alternativ är Poco M3 Pro 5G, som förutom 5G även har en högre upplösning med 90 Hz-skärm, men den är mörkare. Galaxy M12 erbjuder å andra sidan bättre kameror, men måste göra eftergifter när det gäller batteritid och Wi-Fi-hastighet.

Pris och tillgänglighet

Oppo A16s börjar med ett pris på 179 euro (~207 dollar), men finns redan tillgänglig för under 150 euro (~173 dollar). Den finns bland annat på Amazon(DE), MediaMarkt (A16 utan NFC) eller Saturn men kan också köpas med eller utan kontrakt på Sparhandy.
