Considering its full selection of ports and A/V output options, the GT60 2OD-026US could seriously pass for a primary workstation—a desktop replacement. That may help you digest the $2K price tag, which—while nearly double that of the Lenovo Y500—makes sense when you consider what a powerful and versatile machine you are actually getting. With a little better battery life, a little less heft, the absence of the warranty sticker, and some minor tweaks to the user interface here and there, it’d be hard to find more to ask for the price. As it stands, however, with just a few exceptions, the GT60 2OD-026US is one heck of a well-rounded gaming monster—and certainly worthy of strong consideration if you’re in the market.

In terms of the performance the MSI GT60 is sublime. The fourth-generation i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM, GTX 780M GPU, and 128 GB SSD ensure lighting fast performance and response. The notebook is capable of running any game currently on the market, and more importantly it can run any game with extreme efficiency.

The design of this MSI notebook follows previous models with a plastic and metal hybrid chassis. The lid has a brushed aluminum design with a matte black plastic frame. The interior is also black plastic except for the palm rest, which is also brushed aluminum. The notebook measures 15.0 x 10.2 x 1.8-inches (wdh) and weighs 7.6-pounds, so it's quite heavy.

With its fourth-generation Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and Nvidia GTX 780M graphics, the MSI GT60 2OD-026US is a gaming beast. While we're not as enamored with its design as we are with the new Alienwares', the GT60 outperforms the Alienware 17 on a number of tests, and does so for about $400 less.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M: GTX 780M är ett grafikkort i prestandaklassen ur GeForce 700M-serien från 2013. Liksom föregående serien 600M bygger den på Keplerarkitekturen. 

Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.
