If you wouldn’t mind abandoning G-Sync and downgrading your CPU to a Core i5, the Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming also packs a GTX 1060 Max-Q. It’s a great value at $980 on Dell.com. Microcenter’s homebrew PowerSpec 1510, on the other hand, only costs $1,200 and packs a more potent GTX 1070 with G-Sync. It’s a classic big, heavy gaming laptop though, and G-Sync is quietly disabled by default (and enabling it is a convoluted hassle). Also, the PowerSpec 1510 can only be picked up in-store at physical Microcenter locations.

We are also pretty happy with the fact that the price hasn’t been altered as much. That’s true, of course, about the GTX 1050 Ti configurations but what about the new GTX 1060 Max-Q Design variant that we reviewed?

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Max-Q:
Effektivt grafikkort i toppskiktet för tunna och lätta laptops, baserad på samma GP106-chip som vanliga GTX 1060 för laptops med med en lägre klockfrekvens. Erbjuder uppskattningsvis 15% lägre prestanda men mycket lägre energiförbrukning.
Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.
