The Zephyrus G16 RTX 5080 is, at its core, a great gaming laptop with a few caveats. Its OLED display is jaw-dropping in its gorgeousness, the kind of screen that even people who are not into technology will admit looks fantastic. The solidly built and MacBook Pro-like chassis is achingly lovely to look at and hold, with its stylish and elegant design. The sound quality rivals that of some dedicated audio devices, and the keyboard and trackpad can easily compete with the best on the market. However, if your main goal is to squeeze the highest possible FPS out of games and you care less about design, you are better off choosing a laptop with a 175 watt RTX 5080, such as the Medion, for that extra grunt. The variant in the Zephyrus G16 does offer solid performance at 120 watts and manages to stay fairly cool under load.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) is a generally lovely laptop, with a crisp OLED screen, gorgeous looks and a great port selection. However, its performance isn’t anywhere near as strong as its key rivals, and its battery life is especially disappointing, making it a harder sell than in previous years, especially for its high price. For instance, the Medion Erazer Beast 16 X1 Ultimate (RTX 5090) is only slightly more, and while it may sacrifice an OLED screen in favour of a Mini LED one and some level of portability and style, it comes with a lot more power, as good of a port selection, and much better battery life. The ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) is a lovely laptop, but just not for that zanily high price. For more options, check out our list of the best gaming laptops we’ve tested.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 is a potent, skinny laptop with a powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor and Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti graphics chip. The overall package is undoubtedly luxury, from its vivid OLED display panel to its high-fidelity audio and comfortable keyboard—hence its steep entry-level price. However, we find that the super-slim chassis sacrifices a bit too much performance for what short-lived time it draws from the battery. To be clear, the ROG Zephyrus G16 is a fine premium 16-inch gaming laptop for frequent travelers. To avoid those concessions for a similar price, consider going smaller with the Editors' Choice award-winning Razer Blade 14 for an even more balanced compact gaming laptop.

This is Intel only, though; too bad there's no AMD variant with similar graphics capabilities.

Is this the Perfect Gaming Laptop for Tito Gamers?

The ROG Zephyrus G16 definitely has its downsides and it’s something you just have to accept for now since there are limits to what their brilliant engineers can do with the internal given the form factor they want this to be. I am personally willing to take the hits for the sake of my back and given that I usually play in little spurts versus pulling all-nighters, which is why I suggested this as the perfect laptop for gamer titos out there. If you’re a tito like me or just have the disposable income to get this laptop (to be clear, I don’t have the disposable income for this), then you might want to consider the ROG Zephyrus G16. That’s another major point that needs to be talked about. The price. Since this does come with a very, very hefty price tag. I mean, most gaming laptops do, but some may not be willing to pay the SRP for the form factor and compromise you have to make when it comes to gaming.

Asus:

De här grafikkorten levererar bäst 3D-prestanda för bärbara datorer. De kan hantera alla nya spel i hög upplösning och ofta med avancerade inställningar. Däremot är strömförbrukningen hög, så batteritiden blir lidande (med undantag för bärbara datorer med växlingsbar grafik). Som regel hittar man bara de här GPU:erna i större laptops.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop: GeForce RTX 5090 Mobile använder GB203-chippet och utnyttjar 10 496 shaders / CUDA-kärnor av de maximala 10 752 som chippet har. Detta gör RTX 5090 Laptop mer lik RTX 5080 desktop-varianten (samma chip) än Stationär RTX 5090 med 20 760 kärnor och högre klockfrekvenser.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop: Ett kommande grafikkort från Blackwell-familjen för bärbara datorer, som Team Green troligen kommer att presentera på CES 2025. Vi antar att det kommer att baseras på GB205-chip, med 5 888 aktiva unified shaders (CUDA-kärnor).

Intel Arrow Lake:

Ultra 9 285H: High-end mobilprocessor baserad på Arrow Lake-arkitekturen med 16 kärnor fördelade på 3 kluster. De 6 snabba P-kärnorna klockar upp till 5,4 GHz. Det finns också 8 mindre E-kärnor med upp till 4,5 GHz och 2 små lågeffektkärnor (samma arkitektur) med upp till 2,5 GHz. SoC:n integrerar en liten NPU med 13 TOPS topprestanda och stödjer vPro Enterprise.

AMD :

Ryzen AI 7 350: En relativt kraftfull processor i Strix Point-familjen som debuterade i oktober 2024. APU:n med hybridarkitektur har 8 CPU-kärnor (en blandning av Zen 5- och Zen 5c-kärnor) som körs på upp till 5,0 GHz, tillsammans med Radeon 880M-grafikkortet och 50 TOPS XDNA 2-neuralmotorn. AMD Secure Processor (som i ett nötskal är en inbyggd ARM-co-processor) finns också ombord, liksom några andra avancerade funktioner, som AMD-Vi. Andra viktiga funktioner inkluderar PCIe 4, USB 4 och upp till LPDDR5x-8000 RAM-stöd, inklusive ECC RAM. Det långsiktiga TDP-effektmålet kan vara så högt som 55 W.
