What you get are fairly standard specs for this price bracket, but the build quality is extremely impressive and the well sculpted looks give it a much more expensive feel. The tested battery life figures point to excellent real world performance. Its only real rival is the HP Sleekbook 15, and the final choice will ideally rest on which one you prefer more. Between the two, the VAIO wins in terms of design and audio performance. The HP Sleekbook is still ahead in terms of how comfortable the keyboard is.

Sony seems to have taken the idea of a Windows convertible to heart. The latest from them is the VAIO Flip 13, following on from the VAIO Duo. But, things aren't what they seem. In the traditional laptop mode, this is pretty much the ultrabook you would have wanted. But, the twisty and bendy bits aren't that impressive, and the "slide this out" and "twist this here" process is something that you will have to remember - it doesn't come naturally. Unless you want an ultrabook that can do all the Matrix style show off, you would be better off spending this much money on a more conventional laptop or ultrabook.

The HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G2 is a portable powerhouse that mixes excellent battery life with impressive performance. I found that it worked better as a laptop or presentation system than a tablet or fold-flat system; in addition, at more than a half-pound overweight, it's tedious to hold as a tablet. And even the entry-level models are surprisingly expensive compared to the competition. Frankly, I was wowed by the Dell XPS 11's ultra-high-resolution screen, its sleek profile and low weight. Easily the best of the bunch at being a tablet, the XPS 11's soft skin is inviting to the touch. Finally, despite having the most complicated hinge design of the three convertibles, the Sony Vaio Fit 11A | Flip PC offered the least number of movement configurations of the three laptops. As a tablet, I found it awkward to hold vertically, while as a laptop, the screen wobbled noticeably and the volume control is hidden behind the display. The Flip does, however, have a nice 5-degree tilt when it's set up on a desk as a tablet.

Finally, despite having the most complicated hinge design of the three convertibles, the Sony Vaio Fit 11A | Flip PC offered the least number of movement configurations of the three laptops. As a tablet, I found it awkward to hold vertically, while as a laptop, the screen wobbled noticeably and the volume control is hidden behind the display. The Flip does, however, have a nice 5-degree tilt when it's set up on a desk as a tablet.

It wasn’t the best note to depart on, but Sony’s VAIO Fit 15A was one of the more interesting hybrid tablet laptops to come by the GadgetGuy reviews desk. It’s a shame Sony didn’t spend more time refining this concept, because like some of the other hybrid ideas we’ve seen, there’s certainly some promise here, though it would have been nice to see it matched with a better keyboard, stronger battery life, and a little more performance. We’re not sure the $1500 price is warranted for this machine, but you find it for much less and can’t decide on what you need, the VAIO Fit 15A is an interesting middle ground.

Sony:
En del nyare spel kan spelas med de här grafikkorten, men bara om de är mindre krävande. De har ändå tillräcklig kapacitet för kontorsbruk och film (möjligen högupplöst). Är grafikkretsen dessutom integrerad kan batteritiden vara utmärkt.
Intel HD Graphics 4000: Den integrerade grafikkretsen i Intels Ivy Bridge-processorer. Prestandan varierar mellan olika processormodeller (ex. ULV eller fyrkärniga).
Intel HD Graphics 4400: Intel HD Graphics 4400 (GT2) är en integrerad grafikkrets i Intels Haswell-generation (4:e generationen Core-processorer).
Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 735M: Ett grafikkort i mellanklassen från 700M-serien. Kortet lanserades i mitten av 2013 och använder GK208-kärnan. Är ibland långsammare än 730M.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M: Ett grafikkort från GT 700M-serien från 2013 med 384 grafikkärnor med varierande prestanda beroende på modell.
Bara vissa äldre spel kan spelas flytande med de här grafikkorten. Kretsar med delat minne har fördelen att de utvecklar mindre värme och ger längre batteritid. De duger gott för kontorsbruk, surfande och enklare bildbehandling, men spel och HD-video är inte i syftet med de här kretsarna.
