Casio’s origami‑themed G‑Shocks have been official for a little while now, and the first real‑world shots depict exactly why these new models have a lot of hype around them. The G-Shock DW‑5600RGM‑1 comes in black and DW‑6900RGM‑5 is clad in white paper‑fold-like design. Both models are priced at ¥19,800 (~$129) with crane motifs and special packaging, very similar to the older Casio "Manga" G-Shocks that have now slid out of production and are quite difficult to procure.

On the DW‑5600RGM‑1, printed stitch lines trace case edges and band segments like cut‑and‑fold guides, with dotted "perforation" art around the bezel that should look crisp under harsh show lighting. The monochrome print avoids bleed at edges and keeps the square’s proportions intact, so the design is mostly graphic. On the other hand, the DW‑6900RGM‑5 completely flips the palette - white resin becomes a base for grey stitch graphics that accentuate the 6900’s layered bezel and triple‑eye cutouts, and the print alignment across the strap keepers and lugs looks pretty tight. Both models' EL backlights have a crane silhouette, something that's also visible on casebacks and packaging, which connects the exterior graphics to the "origami" theme rather than leaving it as surface‑only decoration.
The specs of the two watches match those of the standard DW‑5600/6900: 200‑meter water resistance, resin cases/bands, stopwatch, countdown, alarms, and auto‑calendar, with "Made in Japan" mentioned alongside the themed box that resembles folded paper panels. Similar to other early November launches, this duo is also expected to be available sometime this November.
