En sällsynt kombination. ExpertBook har ett 5G-modem, Thunderbolt 4 och en lågreflekterande pekskärm (15,6 tum). Den sistnämnda kan användas med fingrarna såväl som med den medföljande Asus-pennan.

Asus ExpertBook B2 Flip är en bärbar 2-i-1-dator som främst riktar sig till företagskunder. 15,6-tummaren drivs av en Core i5-1260Pprocessor. Bland konkurrenterna finns enheter som t.ex Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 15, den Dell Inspiron 16 7620 2-i-1och MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo A12MT.

Hölje och funktioner - B2502FBA med Thunderbolt 4

Asus använder sig av ett hölje av metall (lock baksida) och plast (basenhet) för B2. De mattsvarta ytorna på chassit är känsliga för fingeravtryck. Basenheten och locket kan vridas lite, men det finns inga märkbara brister i konstruktionen. Batteriet (fastskruvat, inte limmat) och de andra innandömena är tillgängliga efter att man tagit bort basenheten.

Den konvertibla enheten har två USB-A-portar (1x USB 3.2 Gen 1, 1x USB 2.0) och två USB-C-portar (1x Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2). Den sistnämnda har stöd för Power Delivery, och TB4-porten erbjuder även DisplayPort över USB-C. B2 har alltså två videoutgångar (HDMI och DP). En minneskortläsare finns inte tillgänglig. Bra: webbkameran (0,9 MP, max. 1 280 x 720 pixlar) har ett mekaniskt skydd.

WLAN-överföringshastigheterna är utmärkta och motsvarar kapaciteten hos Wi-Fi-chipet (Intel AX211; 802.11ax). Det installerade 5G-modemet (Fibocom FM350-GL) möjliggör nätverksanslutningar via 5G- eller LTE-nätet. ESIM stöds, alternativt finns en fysisk SIM-korthållare inuti den bärbara datorn.

Inmatningsenheter - Den bärbara 2-i-1-datorn levereras med en TrackPoint

Chiclet-tangentbordet (belysning på en nivå, stänkskyddad) består av konkava tangenter. Dessa har en medelhög slaglängd och en tydlig tryckpunkt. Det ganska skarpa motståndet är tilltalande. Tangentbordet viker minimalt under skrivandet. Det visade sig inte vara irriterande. På det hela taget levererar Asus ett tangentbord som lämpar sig för daglig användning.

Den släta ytan på den multitouchdugliga ClickPad (ca 10 x 6,2 cm) gör det lätt för fingrarna att glida. Padden reagerar även på inmatningar i hörnen. Den har ett kort slag och en tydlig tryckpunkt. En annan musersättning är en TrackPoint, som gör det möjligt att styra muspekaren ganska exakt. De släta musknapparna erbjuder en tydlig tryckpunkt.

Pekskärmen (upp till tio beröringspunkter) svarar snabbt på inmatningar. Den kan användas både med fingrarna och med den medföljande Asus stylus (SA201H, MPP 2.0). Den senare känns bra i handen, pennspetsen glider smidigt över skärmen. Pennan håller magnetiskt fast på lockets högra sida.

Ljusstyrkan (221,2 cd/m²) och kontrasten (469:1) på 15,6-tums pekskärmen (1 920 x 1 080 pixlar) är en besvikelse. Man borde förvänta sig mer av en enhet i den här prisklassen. Vi betraktar värden över 300 cd/m² eller 1 000:1 som bra. Positivt: PWM-flimmer kunde inte upptäckas

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Provningsvillkor

Den bärbara datorn har tre tillverkarspecifika prestandaprofiler ("Performance Mode", "Balanced Mode", "Whisper Mode"), som du kan växla mellan med hjälp av tangentkombinationen "Fn" + "F". Testerna utfördes med profilen "Balanced Mode" aktiv. Profilen "Performance Mode" ger ingen ökning av prestanda.

Processor

Core i7-1260Pprocessorn (Alder Lake) innehåller fyra prestandakärnor (Hyperthreading, 2,1 till 4,7 GHz) och åtta effektivitetskärnor (ingen Hyperthreading, 1,5 till 3,4 GHz). Totalt resulterar detta i 16 logiska CPU-kärnor

Flertrådstestet i riktmärket Cinebench R15 bearbetas med klockfrekvenser i det lägre Turbo-området (P-kärnor: 2,2, upp till 3,3 GHz, E-kärnor: 1,8 till 1,9 GHz). Testet med en enda tråd körs med 1,7 till 4,2 GHz (P-kärnor) och 400 MHz till 3,3 GHz (E-kärnor). I batteriläge är klockfrekvenserna nästan lika höga

En titt på jämförelsetabellerna visar: Core i7 ligger generellt sett under sin kapacitet. Om du är intresserad av B2 Flip kan en billigare modell med en Core i5 (samma antal kärnor och sammansättning som 1260P) vara ett bättre val eftersom Core i7 inte kan utnyttja sina minimalt högre klockfrekvenser.

Efter den första körningen av CB15-slingan sjunker klockfrekvensen och basklockorna underskrids. Med andra ord används Turbo knappt eller inte alls. Profilen "Performance Mode" orsakar inga förbättringar.
