Recension av Corsair Voyager a1600 - Full AMD-kraft för spelare, streamers och kreatörer

Rembrandt och Navi förenade! Corsair har lanserat en mycket intressant enhet med sin Voyager a1600, som sticker ut från konkurrenterna med speciella Elgato-genvägar. Med en kombination av AMD CPU och AMD GPU bör gamers och streamers få valuta för pengarna. Vi har satt toppmodellen på prov och kommer i den här recensionen i synnerhet att titta på den bärbara datorns funktioner och prestanda.

Corsair är ett välkänt namn när det gäller tillbehör inom PC-sektorn: kringutrustning, nätaggregat, SSD-enheter, höljen, skärmar och även färdiga stationära system, varav vi redan har testat några, ingår i tillverkarens nuvarande sortiment. Med Voyager-serien ger sig Corsair nu även in i segmentet för bärbara datorer och vill delta i spelbranschen med Voyager a1600. Utgångsläget är inte alls dåligt, för med den AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS och en dedikerad AMD Radeon RX 6800M finns det en lovande grund. Du kan också se fram emot 32 GB DDR5 RAM-minne och en SSD med 2 TB lagringsutrymme i toppkonfigurationen. QHD-panelen med 240 Hz är å andra sidan alltid ett måste. Priset på 3 550 euro är dock i den övre ligan.

Det kan bli billigare om du väljer en AMD Ryzen 7 6800HSmed 16 GB RAM-minne och en 1 TB SSD. Här är det för närvarande 2 600 euro som gäller. I testet tävlar Corsair Voyager a1600 mot starka rivaler från fältet av aktuella bärbara gamingdatorer. Mer information finns i följande tabell.

Hölje och funktioner - Tunn men robust

Corsair Voyager a1600s hölje är tillverkat av aluminium och ger därmed enheten en mycket god stabilitet. Endast displaylocket vred sig något under våra vridningstester. I övrigt har den bärbara gamingdatorn ett relativt blygsamt utseende och klarar sig utan RGB-belysning, vilket är helt okej. Skärmen hålls av två små gångjärn, vilket inte helt kan förhindra studsande.

När det gäller anslutningsmöjligheter erbjuder Corsair moderna gränssnitt, även om antalet är mycket hanterbart. Det är synd att det bara finns en USB Type-A, men det finns tre USB-C-portar med Thunderbolt-stöd. Den bärbara datorn är alltså väl förberedd för framtiden. Antalet gränssnitt är förmodligen så sparsamt på grund av Slipstream-funktionen eftersom olika tillbehör kan anslutas direkt till den bärbara datorn via denna trådlösa teknik utan ytterligare en dongel. Corsair erbjuder själv sina egna möss, tangentbord och headset för detta. Wi-Fi-modulen kommer från Foxconn och erbjuder den aktuella standarden Wi-Fi 6E.

Den tänkta användningen som bärbar dator för streaming kräver en bra webbkamera. Testet visar att den inbyggda 1080p-kameran presterar bättre än konkurrenterna. Vi rekommenderar ändå att du använder en extern kamera för stationär användning. För mobil användning kan du tryggt falla tillbaka på den inbyggda kameran.

Corsair ger Voyager a1600 ett mekaniskt tangentbord baserat på Cherry MX-switchar. Dessa är mycket robusta och utformade för extrem livslängd. Den mycket korta resan och den tydligt märkbara tryckpunkten ger användaren bra taktil feedback. Dessutom är slaget inte dämpat, vilket förhindrar en svampig inmatningskänsla.

Tangentbordets belysning kan konfigureras som önskat via programvaran iCUE. Olika effekter och en komplett färgpalett är tillgängliga för användaren. Dessutom kan alla tangenter konfigureras individuellt.

Pekplattan mäter hela 15,5 centimeter i bredd och 10 centimeter i djup. ClickPad är alltså mycket stor och lämpar sig bäst som musersättning i praktiken. Om du tycker att det aktiva inmatningsområdet är för stort kan du avaktivera den högra sidan genom att dubbeltrycka på den vita pricken i det övre vänstra hörnet. Det finns dock ingen optisk eller haptisk indikation för denna funktion. Glasytan har en subtil satinfinish som är bekväm att använda även med något svettiga fingrar. De två inmatningsknapparna i det nedre området fungerar bra och är ganska tysta när de trycks in.

Skärmen på Corsair Voyager a1600 är en 16-tums IPS-panel med 240 Hz. 16:10-formatet, som har en upplösning på 2 560 x 1 600 pixlar, ger en generös arbetsyta. Det finns inga alternativa skärmvarianter för Voyager a1600 än så länge.

I våra tester uppnår den installerade panelen en bra ljusstyrka på 340 cd/m². Trots detta erbjuder konkurrenterna klart ljusare skärmar i jämförelse. På grund av det relativt höga svartvärdet lider kontrastförhållandet avsevärt. Voyager a1600 uppnår således endast en kontrast på 670:1 i vårt test.

Ögontrötthet på grund av PWM bör inte vara något problem med Corsair Voyager a1600. Bakgrundsblödning var inget problem med vår enhet.

Skärmkvaliteten är bra, och färgomfånget är också imponerande. Konkurrenten erbjuder dock ofta bättre priser även i den här jämförelsen. Vårt recensionsexemplar kan bara slå Lenovos Legion 7 i den här disciplinen. På grund av de goda Delta E-2000-värdena för gråskalan och färgerna jämfört med sRGB-färgrymden antar vi att Corsair levererar enheten med en kalibrerad skärm. En manuell kalibrering förbättrar Delta E-2000-värdena något igen. Trots detta lider den maximala skärmens ljusstyrka. Vi rekommenderar att man låter skärmen vara i leveransskick. Färgrumstäckningen är tillräcklig för halvprofessionell foto- och videoredigering.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 18071 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 3846000) Hz was measured.

I princip är den matta displayytan lämplig för utomhusbruk. Den jämförelsevis låga ljusstyrkan talar dock emot den.

Provningsvillkor

Corsair erbjuder möjligheten att använda enheten i tre olika lägen, som kan växlas via iCUE-programvaran. Alternativen är tyst, balanserad och extrem. Skillnaderna ligger i den maximala prestanda som finns tillgänglig för CPU och GPU även i kombination med Smart Shift-tekniken. Alla prestandatester utfördes med profilen Extreme.

Processor

AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS är en processor med åtta kärnor och bygger på den nuvarande Rembrandt-arkitekturen. SoC:n klockar med en frekvens på 3,3-4,9 GHz i Boost och har stöd för SMT, vilket ger användaren totalt 16 trådar. I direkt jämförelse med den Intel-baserade konkurrensen har AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS svårt att hävda sig. Testprovet klarar dock AIDA64-testerna lite bättre och tar tredjeplatsen i rankingen.

Vi mätte den varmaste punkten på botten av höljet med upp till 54 °C i stresstestet. Men fallet blir också ganska varmt på ovansidan med strax över 50 °C. Falltemperaturen sjunker endast något med 1-2 °C under spelandet.

Under stresstestet stiger CPU- och GPU-temperaturen till 95 respektive 83 °C. SoC:n klockar dock fortfarande med 3,7 GHz i genomsnitt. AMD:s GPU uppnår också höga klockfrekvenser med strax under 2,2 GHz. Corsair använder ett stort kylsystem med en ångkammare och två fläktar.

Högtalare

De två högtalarna är placerade under handflatorna. Ljudet riktas dock uppåt från högtalargallren bredvid tangentbordet. Som ofta är fallet saknar de två högtalarna bas, så mellan- och diskantljud dominerar klart. Vi rekommenderar dock att du använder ett headset för spel. Detta kan anslutas till den bärbara datorn via USB med hjälp av 3,5 mm-uttaget eller via Slipstream.

Enligt specifikationerna kan nätaggregatet leverera 230 watt. De högre belastningstopparna ledde dock inte till några problem i testet. Batteriet laddades inte ytterligare ur under stresstestet.

Batteriets livslängd

Med 99 Wh har Corsair nått upp till det maximala när det gäller batterikapacitet. På grund av den relativt höga energiförbrukningen vid tomgång släpar enheten efter konkurrenterna vid tomgång. Lenovos Legion 7 får dock ännu sämre resultat. Med det sagt uppnår Voyager a1600 en godkänd drifttid på knappt 6 timmar i WLAN-testet. Skärmens ljusstyrka var 52 procent i det här testet, vilket motsvarar de allmänna förutsättningarna på 150 cd/m². Corsair stryper också CPU:n och GPU:ns prestanda märkbart i batteriläget.

Corsair har skapat en riktigt bra enhet med Voyager a1600. Kombinationen av AMD SoC och AMD GPU är bra och är ganska övertygande i testet. Den måste ofta erkänna sig besegrad i den direkta duellen med Intels nuvarande SoC. Skillnaderna i prestanda är dock inte riktigt märkbara. Voyager a1600 ser särskilt högklassig ut på grund av materialvalet, vilket också ger enheten mycket god stabilitet. Enheten ser inte alls klumpig ut

Anslutningsmöjligheterna visar sig vara lite spartanska vid första anblicken. De som förlitar sig på Slipstream-tekniken för att ansluta kringutrustning kommer dock knappast att sakna de frånvarande USB Typ-A-portarna.

AMD:s Ryzen 9 6900HS presterar bra och konsekvent snabbt utan någon större prestandaförlust under belastning. Vi kan också intyga samma sak för AMD:s Radeon RX 6800M. Vi gillade skärmen i formatet 16:10. De enda nackdelarna är den något låga ljusstyrkan och den inte helt perfekta färgrymdstäckningen i färgrymderna AdobeRGB och P3, vilket utesluter professionell användning för video- eller fotoredigering. Som bärbar dator för spel kan Corsair Voyager a1600 dock lätt klara sig utan dem.

Corsair Voyager a1600 är mer än bara en renodlad spellaptop, eftersom dess fantastiska funktioner gör den till en perfekt enhet för streamers och innehållsskapare.

Med de unika streamingfunktionerna kommer Voyager a1600 dock att bli ihågkommen. Snabbstartknapparna, som kan tilldelas efter önskemål, passar streamers och du kan klara dig utan en extra streamdäck. Med det sagt hade vi på grund av den avsedda användningen önskat oss en kamera av högre kvalitet som inte bara är tänkt att fungera som en mobil nödlösning. Den största nackdelen med Corsair Voyager a1600 är den inbyggda kylenheten. Temperaturerna håller sig inom gränserna under belastning, ingen tvekan om det, men ändå är den uppmätta ljudnivån för hög vid maximal prestanda. De som avstår från Extreme-läget kommer att belönas med låga utsläpp, men ger samtidigt bort lite prestanda.

Pris och tillgänglighet

Corsair Voyager a1600 är tillgänglig direkt från Corsair-butiken där du måste betala 3 550 euro för den testade konfigurationen. Alternativt säljer Amazon samma modell för för närvarande 3 540 euro. Den billigare konfigurationen med Ryzen 7 6800HS och 16 GB RAM finns också på Amazon för 2 725 euro.
