Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Vid en första anblick kan GL62-6QFi781H11 framstå som ett prisvärt alternativ till MSI:s dyrare bärbara speldatorer, som GE62. Och det är svårt att kritisera prestandan med fyrkärnig processor, GTX 960M och SSD. Det är relativt mycket för pengarna (ca 10 500 kr). 

Men 15-tummaren har knappt en chans mot GE62. MSI har inte bara kapat bort USB 3.1 Gen 2-porten, utan även metalldelarna och tangentbordsbelysningen. Den största nackdelen är däremot den ljussvaga TN-panelen med låg kontrast. Det sätter stopp för en köprekommendation för GL62.

Prismedvetna gamers bör titta närmare på t.ex. Omen 15 med liknande specifikationer. Rivalen från HP har ingen USB 3.1-port heller, men du får en IPS-skärm som är överlägsen i många avseenden. Asus G501VW och Acer V15 Nitro får också bättre betyg.
