I år har Lenovo stannat kvar vid den förra designen av E400-serien och uppgraderat vissa detaljer. Datorn är välbyggd, med bra inmatningsenheter och låg värmeutveckling/fläktljud. I vår testenhet ingår en Core i5-processor, SSD, IPS-skärm och en dedikerad GeForce-GPU. Modellen kostar ca 7 000 kr, men tyvärr är just den här konfigurationen bara tillgänglig för studenter till det priset. 

Nackdelarna är ett tungt chassi med få uppgraderingsalternativ och ett begränsat urval portar. Vi skulle ha uppskattat åtminstone en M.2-plats eller en USB-C-port. Konkurrenter som HP ProBook 440 G4 är utrustade med sådana funktioner. Möjligen är det ett strategiskt beslut för att hålla avståndet till de dyrare ThinkPad-varianterna. Hur som helst är ThinkPad E470 en trevlig kontorsmaskin som även klarar av enklare spel.
