Vid en första anblick kan man tro att Gigabyte P57W är en större variant av P55W v5. Det stämmer till viss del, men det finns vissa skillnader. Till exempel plockar 17-tummaren poäng med en bättre portlayout och bakåtvända fläktar.

Dessutom finns det ett utbytbart enhetsfack och batteriet har högre kapacitet (75 jämfört med 61 Wh), som visserligen mest kompenserar för den något högre strömförbrukningen. Temperatur och systemljud är jämförbara, även om P57W är marginellt bättre.

Bortsett från en undermålig pekplatta behöver inte P57W gömma sig bakom konkurrenterna. Design, skärm och anslutningsmöjligheter är up-to-date. Detsamma gäller prestandan, som vinner mycket på SSD-lagringen och den moderna CPU/GPU-kombinationen. Ljudkvaliteten är mindre imponerande.

Allt som allt är P57W en bra prestandamaskin som står sig bra jämfört med t.ex. MSI GS70, Acer Predator 17 och Schenker XMG P706. De mer skrymmande 17-tummarna Alienware 17 R3, Asus G752 och MSI GT72S är dock något vassare.
