Intel Core m7-6Y75
Intel Core m7-6Y75 är en mycket strömsnål tvåkärnig krets baserad på Skylake arkitekturen. Den lanserades i september 2015 och kan tack vare sin extremt låga TDP användas i passivt kylda surfplattor och 2-in-1-lösningar. Förutom två CPU-kärnor med Hyper-Threading och en klockfrekvens på 1,2 - 3,1 GHz (2 kärnor: max 2,9 GHz), har chippet också en integrerad HD Graphics 515-GPU och en styrenhet för LPDDR3-1866/DDR3L-1600. Processorn tillverkas i 14 nm process med FinFET-transistorer.
Arkitektur
Skylake ersätter både Haswell och Broadwell, med samma mikroarkitektur i TDP-klasser från 4,5 till 45 W. Förbättringarna i Skylake jämfört med föregångarna är större out-of-order-buffertar, optimerad prefetching och branch prediction samt ytterligare prestandaförbättringar med Hyper-Threading. Sammanlagt har dock prestandan per klockcykel bara ökat med 5-10 procent (jämfört med Haswell) respektive mindre än 5 procent (jämfört med Broadwell), vilket är ganska blygsamt för en ny arkitektur (Intels "Tock").
Prestanda
Den faktiska prestandan med Core m7-6Y75 beror mycket på kylningskapaciteten och TDP-konfigurationen i den specifika enheten. Medan den kan prestera i nivå med en Core i5-6300U (Skylake, 15 W) i korta perioder kan den istället motsvara en Core i3-6100U under konstant full belastning.
Grafik
Den integrerade grafikkretsen heter HD Graphics 515 och är "GT2"-versionen i Skylake-serien (Intel gen. 9). De 24 exekveringsenheterna, eller execution units (EUs), har en klockfrekvens på 300-1000 MHz (som begränsas av det tillgängliga TDP-utrymmet). Resultatet är någonstans inom räckhåll för den äldre HD Graphics 4400-kretsen (Haswell, 15 W). Bara ett fåtal 3D-spel från 2015 och framåt fungerar med låga inställningar.
Strömförbrukning
Med en TDP på 4,5 W (inklusive CPU, GPU och minneskontroller) är processorn lämpad för passivt kylda bärbara datorer och surfplattor. TDP:n kan sänkas till 3,5 watt (”cTDP down”) eller höjas till 7 watt (”cTDP up”), vilket påverkar både värmeutveckling och prestanda.
